Stiftung FAR

The Starting Point
The Problem
Stiftung FAR needed a solution to translate complex regulatory requirements into user-friendly workflows. Managing pension applications across multiple departments required coordinating different roles and responsibilities while maintaining data accuracy and processing efficiency.
The Solution
Quatico developed a process-driven web application that enables continuous application processing with four-eyes review, automated monthly payment runs, annual pension reviews, and role-based task assignment. The solution is built on a business process engine with BPMN notation.
The Implementation
The business application for Stiftung FAR was built with a focus on process automation and data integrity:
Workshop-based requirements analysis
Shared understanding through structured workshops. Documentation of use cases and identification of exceptions.
Complex workflows simplified
Breaking down complex workflows into simple digital processes. Standardized workflows automated to minimize manual work.
Business process engine
Process-driven architecture with FNZ Studio as the business process engine. BPMN notation for clear process modeling. Java-implemented domain model for back-end logic.
Bi-temporal data management
Historical data tracking with a bi-temporal database structure (transaction date + validity date). Flexible configuration for regulatory changes.
Measurable Successes
The digital solution for Stiftung FAR led to significant efficiency gains and quality improvements:
High processing quality
Improved processing quality through automated or guided workflows with secondary four-eyes review, saving considerable time.
Automated processes
Automated monthly payment runs with ISO file generation. Nightly generation of statistics and reports.
Flexible adaptability
Continuous adaptation of digital processes to evolving requirements for over 15 years. 1-2 releases per month with improvements and new features.
Efficient data management
A bi-temporal database enables historical traceability. Merge functionality for multi-page PDF generation and form letters.
