Mission Analysis — determine the value of your idea and the price of digitalising it with your IT.
You know what you want to build. But not what it is worth.
The Problem
Your digital product has contours, the business goal is set. Now comes the expensive question: which part of it pays off first? Your budget is limited, the market will not wait, and your existing IT has a say. Cut this wrong and you spend months on the second-most-important problem.
The Solution
The Mission Analysis answers that before you invest. In two to four weeks we work out which key scenarios carry the success, which cost savings and revenue increases lie within them — and how the MVP fits into your IT landscape.
Two questions, two formats.
Both workshops start from your idea — but they answer different questions. Which one you need depends on how far along you are.
Feasibility Workshop — can this be done?
The idea is there, but nobody has checked yet whether it fits the budget and the timeframe.
Then rather Feasibility Workshop
- •The idea is there, but nobody has ever costed it
- •You need a basis for a decision, not a finished concept
- •Half a day and CHF 4,000 is the frame
Mission Analysis — what is it worth?
The direction is set. What is open is which part gets built first and how it fits into your IT.
This fits when …
- •A requirements document or named MVP candidates already exist
- •Several business areas and systems are involved
- •You need a business architecture, not just an assessment
- •Two to four weeks and from CHF 12,000 are acceptable
Both apply? The Mission Analysis opens with an extended Feasibility session anyway — you lose nothing by starting here.
A sequence, not a single session.
We open with an extended Feasibility session and then go deeper exactly where it matters for your venture.
- Dauer
- 2–4 weeks
- Teilnehmer
- Representatives from the business, finance, customer service and IT
- Unser Team
- One solution architect and one business analyst from Quatico
from CHF 12,000excl. VAT, fixed price against stepping stones
How the Mission Analysis runs.
One opening, one to three deep dives, one solution proposal. The schedule shifts with the availability of your domain experts.
Flow
- Opening
- opening
Extended Feasibility session
We map the surface of your organisation: value streams, system vision, business goal. The same session as in the Feasibility Workshop, only with more room. - Deep dive
- session 1–3
Deep dives
One to three focused deep dives — business process, integration into the IT landscape, governance. Which ones, we decide together after the opening. - Closing
- closing
Solution proposal
We formulate the business architecture, the integration with surrounding systems, the feature scope for an MVP and possible expansion stages — and present them to you.
One to three deep dives.
After the opening we know where your venture raises the biggest questions. That is where we go deep.

Business process
Understand the domain — flows, events, actors. With Event Storming and Domain Storytelling.
Result: Domain map with subdomains and domain model

Integration into the IT landscape
Capture the current state of your production systems to ground integration decisions.
Result: Context map with data ownership and context relationships

Governance
Clarify organisational responsibilities, data ownership and compliance requirements.
Result: Responsibilities and guard rails documented
We choose one to three together — not every venture needs all three.
What we work with.
Proven workshop formats, not consulting slides. Which ones we use depends on the deep dives you choose.

Event Storming
A collaborative workshop method. Visualising events and their interactions makes the connections between the parts of a domain clear. Behaviour models for an entire business area can be built this way.

Impact Mapping
Sharpens the understanding of a digital product's overarching goal. An impact map shows which function enables which actor to do what — and which goal that acts upon.

Domain Storytelling
Deepens the understanding of domain knowledge and complex business requirements. In the session, stories are developed that capture the domain logic and how the participants interact.

Value Stream Mapping
Visualises and analyses the value-creating processes in your organisation. A value stream map illustrates the flow of information and work over time.

What you receive as a result.
A business architecture with IT integration
Lets you settle with your IT which systems need connecting — before the first line of code is written.
A prioritised feature list for an MVP
Lets you cut the first release without reopening the discussion at every feature.
A functional documentation of the business processes
Gives your business units and your development team the same basis — months later too.
An assessment of the digitalisation potential
Lets you decide which manual processes are worth doing first and which can stay as they are.
How it benefits you.
You recognise how complex your venture is
Helps against the mid-project surprise that a supposedly small venture touches five systems.
You know the key scenarios of your MVP
Helps when the team is unclear about what belongs in the first release and what can wait.
You can assess savings and revenue opportunities
Helps when you have to defend the venture internally against other investments.
What you bring along.
3-4 days of time from your domain and IT experts
We need the people who really know your processes and systems — without them the analysis stays on the surface.
A short description of your product idea and vision
We use it to aim the workshops, so we do not go deep on the wrong question.
A functional understanding of manual processes
We look for the steps that can be automated — and the ones where it would not pay off.
A rough documentation of your existing IT systems
From it we build the context map that shows where your venture has to dock.
What you are probably wondering right now.
The five questions we hear most often — with the answers we also give on the phone.
Is CHF 12,000 just the entry point — and how high can the actual cost go?
We work with a fixed price, not time and materials. The scope is agreed before we start and invoiced against stepping stones — part when the product vision is formulated, the rest when the solution proposal is presented. What moves the price is the number of deep dives: one goes for less than three. We decide that together after the opening session, not afterwards on the invoice. Can we really free up our domain and IT experts for three to four days?
The two to four weeks are calendar time, not your people's working time. In practice it is individual workshop sessions spread across that period — in between, we work. Not everyone needs to attend everything: the business side joins the process deep dive, IT joins the integration one. We agree the agenda with you in advance so nobody sits in the room without reason. What exactly separates the Mission Analysis from the cheaper Feasibility Workshop?
The Feasibility Workshop answers «can this be done» in half a day. The Mission Analysis answers «what is it worth and how do we build it» — with a domain map, a context map and a business architecture. It opens with an extended Feasibility session, so it contains the smaller workshop. If you are unsure: start with the Feasibility Workshop. Nothing you work out there is lost here. What happens if the result says our idea is not economical or not feasible?
Then for CHF 12,000 you found out what a failed project would have cost. We do not talk a venture up to win the follow-up contract — the assessment of the digitalisation potential is part of what we deliver, and it turns out how it turns out. Often the answer is not a no, though, but a different cut: not this MVP, but that one.Do we get an actionable roadmap with a solid cost estimate — or just a non-binding proposal?
You receive documentation with a product vision, domain map, context map, business architecture, prioritised feature scope for an MVP and possible expansion stages. That is enough to budget and tender a project — including with someone other than us. What you do not receive is a fixed-price quote for the build: that requires a specification, which only emerges on this basis.

What customers who did it with us say.
Thanks to the Mission Analysis we were able to assess which of our ideas were the most valuable. Quatico competently showed us which ideas can be realised in which timeframe and at what cost.
Thanks to Quatico's Mission Analysis we were able to approach our project in a structured way. The intensive workshops led to a prioritised feature list and a clear integration strategy. The insights into cost savings and efficiency gains were a real gamechanger and helped us make the most of our budget.
