Last year was very special …
Especially challenging, with special projects, in a very special global economic situation, especially post-Corona and with lots of home office, especially hot in summer … special, in short. Despite all of that, we as Quatico achieved a great deal, and everyone on the team contributed to it with their efforts.
To reward that effort, we treat ourselves to a weekend in the snow. That means we move the Christmas dinner to January and invite the families along too. After all, they at home also contribute significantly to Quatico's success.
Big family gathering at the Stoos
Over the course of Saturday, everyone arrives at the newly opened Stoos Lodge. Highly motivated to have a good time in the mountains and to see the whole crew again at last. Various constellations and activities soon took shape: the «kids' group» wears itself out on the giant bouncy castle, the «snowshoe» and «hiking groups» climb up to the Waldhüttli, the «strolling group» explores the village and stops for a cozy break. They are joined by the sporty, motivated «cross-country group», the «we'll-only-show-up-for-dinner» bunch, and the «just-arriving» group. A cheerful, colorful hustle and bustle.
Apéro riche with many new discoveries
Right on time at 5.30 p.m., we gather for the apéro. Finally everyone together in one place again! After the dry spell of the pandemic, there were quite a few new faces in the Quatico family to discover. The apéro nibbles are delicious and plentiful, and the lovely lady from the restaurant knows how to sell: the glass was never really empty.
Around 7 p.m., we move on to the Christmas dinner. The wait for the starter is bridged with engaging conversations: this way, you get to know the people you work with every day from a completely different, more personal side, in the company of their families.
After the meal, the group splits up: the children keep building a great snow hut in the snow until midnight, the grown-ups enjoy a fine Vieille Prune and play billiards. And the truly hardcore head on to the Mosi Bar for some «nail driving». How long they stayed there and how many bruised fingers there were, unfortunately remains a secret.
Sunshine on Sunday
After a gray Saturday, glorious weather awaits us the next morning! And so everyone is drawn out into the snow to go sledding, skiing, snowboarding, and even paragliding! The view from the Fronalpstock over the surrounding sea of fog is striking, and we are all glad we are not stuck at home under the dense blanket of fog. Some prefer to enjoy sauna sessions in the wellness paradise instead, which they have more or less to themselves thanks to the dream weather. The main thing is to relax!
As lovely as it was, a weekend like this only ever has 48 hours. And so our little groups split up again and set off for home. We would have gladly stayed longer.
